I feel privileged to be in the field of higher education where I am constantly challenged by colleagues, students, and community members to grow as a person and as a professional. I also believe that education is one of the most powerful tools that Christians can utilize to address inequities and to bring about needed change in this world. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best when he reminded us that “Education without social action is a one-sided value because it has no true power potential.” Yet, “Social action without education is a weak expression of pure energy.”
