Program Description
Electrophysiology (EP) is an emerging healthcare science and therapy. EP is a subspecialty of cardiology that focuses on diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias. Technologists assist the cardiologist during diagnostic and invasive procedures including programmed electrical stimulation, sterile scrub technique, electro-anatomical 3D mapping, catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmias and device implantation for cardiac rhythm management such as pacemakers and other advanced implantable devices.

Prerequisites
To be eligible for admission, the applicant must first complete a minimum of 39 quarter units (26 semester units) at an accredited college or university. A high school diploma or GED is also required for acceptance. The minimum subject/prerequisite requirements for this A.S. program are as follows:- Anatomy and physiology w/lab (complete sequence)
- Medical Terminology
- Choose one from the following: general psychology, general sociology, cultural anthropology
- College English composition, complete sequence
- Introduction to computers, college or high school
- Electives to meet the minimum total requirement of 39 quarter (26 semester) units
