Undergraduate:

:  All graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX exam (National Council Licensure Examination).  Passing this exam gives the person the right to use the title Registered Nurse (RN).  This is accepted by all states through endorsement (reciprocity).   This does not apply to the , as they already possess the RN designation.  They receive the BS, but no further license or certification is needed for employment.

Graduate:

MS: and – RN required prior to taking program.  Certification is available in both areas but not required for employment.

DNP:  All students are required to have a California RN and are eligible to take the national certification exam appropriate for that clinical focus. Requirement for the certification varies:

In order sit for licensure in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico, an individual must simply graduate from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE). LLU School of Pharmacy has been continuously accredited by ACPE since our founding in 2002; therefore, a PharmD degree from LLU qualifies the graduate to sit for the licensure exams in every state and territory.  There are no further requirements for licensure as a pharmacist. 

 

Public Health

Coordinated with the Registered Dietician (RD) credential.  The MPH fulfills the requirements to sit for the credentialing exam.

Meet the criteria to sit for the Certification in Public Health (CPH) exam, which requires a CEPH-approved program.  Government employers (local, state and federal levels) are increasingly moving in the direction of requiring the CPH credential to work, especially at the master’s level (MPH).
